Arizona Travel Weather

Arizona’s terrain and climate are far more variable than many visitors expect. Elevations here range from 70 feet (~20 m) to 12,000 feet (~3,600 m) above Mean Sea Level. Arizona's average elevation, in fact, is 4,000 feet (~1200 m).  Though sunny, cloudless skies are delightfully common, the region may experience heavy summer rains, winter snow and ice and temperature variations of 30-50 degrees F (0-10 C) between dawn and dusk.

Use this page to help you gauge the weather for your upcoming visit to Arizona and be sure to call your Bed and Breakfast Innkeeper to discuss packing tips for the particular locale and season.  Depending on your itinerary, you may want to pack your heavy coat, scarf and gloves along with your bathing suit. Really!
