Location
If you are coming to Tucson to experience the desert, Casa Tierra Adobe Bed & Breakfast Inn is the place to be! Casa Tierra is located on five acres of beautiful Sonoran desert thirty minutes from downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona. As you drive over Gate’s Pass through Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park West you enter an area known for its magnificent Saguaro cacti and fiery sunsets. Every direction provides spectacular mountain views. Abundant wildlife and native vegetation provide a perfect backdrop for our adobe hacienda home. Come relax with us in the quiet of the desert where the voices of the coyotes and birds blend perfectly with the beauty and tranquillity of our private courtyards and fountains.

The Inn
This rustically elegant home of Dave Malmquist, Casa Tierra, recalls true Spanish haciendas of old Mexico. The adobe home features over fifty arches and niches, entryways with vaulted ceilings, saguaro ribbed cabinetry, brick and Saltillo tile floors and brightly colored Talavera tile baths. Rooms open into the beautifully landscaped central courtyard with fountain and the Sonoran desert. The sun baked adobe bricks have been left exposed so that the natural color and texture can be appreciated. The inn features handmade ceramic lights and viga and latilla ceilings.

Rooms
Casa Tierra has three beautifully decorated guest rooms with private desert view patios and baths and a two bedroom family suite. Guestrooms have queen size beds, Talavera tile wet bar areas, refrigerators, microwaves, private entrances and patios or decks with Mexican chimenea fireplaces overlooking the Sonoran desert landscape. You are greeted with complimentary bottled water and iced tea in your refrigerator, fresh fruit and flowers, snack basket and chocolates. Your bath comes complete with plush robes, hair dryer and full amenity package. Each room opens into the central courtyard with fountain where guests can enjoy the lush gardens. Guests also enjoy the large gathering room with TV, games, guest computer with high speed internet and WiFi and library, or they can work out in the fully equipped, state of the art gym. There is a separate outdoor hot tub area with a telescope where guests enjoy watching the sun setting, the moon rising and stars falling. In the evening Casa Tierra glows in candle and luminaria light giving a feeling of times past.

Breakfast
Mornings at Casa Tierra begin with fresh ground coffee or an assortment of fine teas. A full gourmet vegetarian is served in the formal dining room overlooking the lush Sonoran desert or on the portal (arched covered patio) overlooking the courtyard. Breakfast always includes a fruit course, fresh-baked bread, pastries, rolls or muffins and a hot main dish as well as coffee, tea and juice. Complimentary yogurt, bagels and granola are available 24 hours a day.

The Casa is famous for our warm hospitality, award winning breakfasts that greet you each morning, and even better pies fresh out of the oven each day in the afternoon.  Comforatble rooms with private baths, a library with lots of reference books on birding in the area, and free Internet access (on a public computer or on WiFi throughout the inn) will make your stay "better than staying at home".    Join us for the perfect romantic getaway, family reunion, corporate retreat, or as your home base for birding, hiking, biking, western history touring, or just a quiet getaway from the stresses of the world.  You will be treated to some of the best hospitalty in Arizona !    And as Kenn Kauffman noted, "Above all it is quiet".

Come join us at Hacienda Corona de Guevavi Bed and Breakfast and Casitas, a perfectly private, peaceful and romantic inn perched atop 36 acres of the historic Guevavi Ranch along the banks of the Santa Cruz River between the towns of Tubac and Patagonia.

The history of this Santa Cruz County gem near the Arizona/Mexico border town of Nogales is unique. While the old barn and rusty silo remind us of its rich ranching heritage, the Hacienda itself is elegant and quite refined. Its interior courtyard walls feature the priceless murals of the famous Mexican muralist and bullfighter Salvador Corona, painted in 1942 and 1955. Its sparkling 70's swimming pool is covered in beautiful blue mosaic tile. It's no wonder that John Wayne and other Hollywood luminaries were attracted to this cool, high desert location where they could hide from the world, rest, relax and have a little fun.

Today you can still just kick back and relax, read a book in any one of several inviting patios or take a dip in the pool. If birding is your passion you can hike around the property and catch a glimpse of the many interesting species that live right here. It has been said that our area is among one of the world's best places for stargazing.

At night the stars will dazzle you as you warm your toes around the fire pit. And, if the itch to explore is irresistible, you can "Cruz" the County and find so many diversions just minutes away that it will take days, if not weeks, to enjoy all that the river valley has to offer.

Our guests Frederica and Rob from Rowland, PA said, "Fascinating, historical, beautiful." Why not come for a visit and see what you have to say

Proud to be among the top 5 urban B&Bs in the nation as reported by USA Today and distinguished as "Where to Stay" in Tucson by The Wall Street Journal.

We hear it all the time: “You guys have thought of everything.” Nearly 7,000 guests have so far experienced the history, luxury and personal service that define the Royal Elizabeth. Flip through our pages of guest reviews on TripAdvisor and you’ll quickly uncover a theme—one of exceeded expectations. Your first visit to The Liz will be truly memorable. Ours is a place you will come back to again and again.

Your stay at the Royal Elizabeth—whether for one night or for an extended stay—is designed to be a delightful experience of our uniquely beautiful historic home; an introduction to the abundant colors and flavors of Tucson culture and an offering of something enriching and enchanting for yourself and those with whom you are traveling.

As owners and innkeepers, we pride ourselves in our sharp attention to detail; our priority of maintaining clean, beautiful and peaceful surroundings; our thoughtfully-prepared and beautifully-presented gourmet breakfasts and our expertly-personal level of individual service. These cornerstones will mark the foundation of your guest experience with us and, along with many other quality touches you’ll notice, will raise your standard for overnight accommodations.

The types and quality of guest amenities at The Liz also go far beyond what you have likely encountered at other bed and breakfasts, inns, boutique hotels, and even many fine hotels and resorts. Guest room accommodations at the Royal Elizabeth are absolutely exquisite. There are six options from which to select. Each varies in size, décor and configuration to meet the preferences of your individual tastes and the needs of your particular visit. All of our guest accommodations, regardless of size, come equipped with the same package of technological and service amenities.

While bearing the names of family members of homeowners past, our rooms are not ‘themed’. Rather, each guest room is designed to be a unique environment created with the use of different periods of antique furnishings, artwork, draperies, wallpaper and bold Victorian colors. We must assure you, too, that these aren’t “frilly” Victorian rooms. The solid adobe construction, towering fir columns and palatial wood floors actually blend seamlessly with Victorian whimsy to create a more masculine architectural feel throughout the house. And, while our uncommonly large guest rooms each range in size between 450 and 650 square feet, tall windows, transoms, crown molding and 17-foot ceilings make each space feel even larger and more inviting.

We also promise to delight you each and every morning with a deliciously-memorable two-course gourmet breakfast. We stray far from the often-expected bacon-and-egg breakfast and meals heavy with starchy breads and pastries. On the contrary, we commit to a menu driven by diverse, fresh, healthy and creative ingredients—thoughtfully prepared and artfully presented.

Whether you stay with us two days or two weeks, we try our best to be sure that no breakfast items are repeated during your stay. This means the longer you stay, the more tantalizing appetizers, entrees, juice blends and accompaniments you will experience—yet another reason to make the Royal Elizabeth your second home in Tucson. We, of course, will cater to specific dietary or taste requirements including vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, low-carb and special breakfasts for younger children. Please talk with us by phone in advance of your arrival so that we anticipate and have a good sense of your individual needs.

And though we set a beautiful formal table and the dining parlor presents an elegant atmosphere, nothing is a greater compliment to us than to have our guests come to breakfast in their PJs, hair undone or in their bare feet. Feeling at home enough to be casual and comfortable at breakfast is what it’s all about.

Desert Trails borders Saguaro National Park East but is only fifteen miles from downtown Tucson.  Located on the eastern end of Speedway Boulevard, we are just far enough out to be away from noise, traffic, and light pollution of the city but still close enough that a short drive takes you to some of Tucson's finest east-side restaurants.

Situated on three acres of desert bordering the national park lies in the shadow of the Rincon Mountains where the cactus forests of the Sonoran Desert give way to the riparian mesquite bosques of the Tanque Verde Valley. Our goal is to provide guests a relaxing stay in a casual, rural setting. Hiking, birding, and horseback riding are literally just outside our door.

Throughout our fired adobe, hacienda-style home you'll find rustic woodwork and cathedral ceilings; hardwood, brick, and Saltillo tile floors; and works of noted local artist and astronomer William K. Hartmann. Outside are courtyards, patios, desert picnic tables, and a swimming pool where you can enjoy the tranquility of the desert without leaving comfort behind.

Six guest rooms are smartly appointed sanctuaries of privacy that combine time-tested standards with modern conveniences. Four rooms are located in the main house and two rooms are located in a detached building within the walled courtyard and desert garden.

Each guest room is unique in decoration but all offer you a private bathroom, fabulously comfortable bed with great linens and high quality pillows and sumptuous robes. Each room also offers TV/DVD, Wi-Fi, an AM/FM CD stereo with iPod dock and other amenities.
