Early Call for 2010 AABBI Board Members

Hello, everyone.

Yes, it's only June and our Annual Meeting is set for December 8, but I am putting an early call-out to each of you to plant a seed.  I ask that you consider becoming a member of the AABBI Board of Directors in 2010.

Because of term limits specified in our By-laws we have a number of seats becoming vacant at the end of 2009.  I am seeking candidates for President, Vice President, Secretary and two Member At-Large seats.

The AABBI Board is small and fun.  Really.  We highly respect your time.  In recent  years, meetings have been kept to no more than 6 annually.  Each meeting lasts no longer than 3 hours and has typically been held in Phoenix over a late lunch.  A great deal of our discussion and decision-making is done by e-mail.  We also have the tremendous benefit of working with AABBI's Administrator Karen McClurg who has made the lives of the President and Board Members much easier!

There is an annual stipend afforded to Board members plus reimbursement for travel to-and-from Board meetings.

Though I am sad that I must step-down as your President, I must repsect our By-laws and will remain as a non-voting Past-President member of the board.  I am committed to working closely with the persons who step into the President and Vice-President roles to make for an easy transition.

Please take some time to consider becoming a part of our growing organization.  If you'd like to speak with me about details of our Board, our activities and responsibilities or, if you'd just like to have me put your name down as a candidate, please drop me a line.

Voting will occur at our Annual Membership Meeting which, in lieu of a Conference and Trade Show, will be hosted as mid-day lunch on Tuesday December 8th.  The specific location has yet to be selected but will be in the Phoenix-area.  Details will be forthcoming.

Thank you so much for your time and your membership.

I hope summer is going well for each one of you!
