Tips to Optimize Our AABBI Website

Hello, innkeepers.

We have been diligently coding our new AABBI website so that it is as visible as possible to the internet search engine world.

It is not uncommon or unreasonable to expect some shifts in our standing upon the activation of a new website and in changing of internet hosts, but I am pleased to report that AABBI is continuously appearing in the top five results for statewide bed and breakfast searches. We have, however, dipped somewhat in local search results and need help from each of you to get these results back to where they should be.

The single greatest factor that drives the ranking of a website is CONTENT.  The more descriptive the words, and more of those words used, the more AABBI will grab the attention of search engines.  I encourage you to review your AABBI website listing periodically to ensure it's as descriptive as it can be:

1.  Use the name of your city or town several times in your narrative;

2.  Use the words "bed and breakfast" several times as well;

3.  Include in your narrative geographic names and names of popular attractions that are draws for your guests (e.g., Grand Canyon; Tombstone; Arizona Snow Bowl; Arizona Cardinals; Chicago White Sox; University of Arizona, etc.).  In doing so our website is more likely to come up as a result of searching under these terms.

4.  Websites that are linked-to from other websites, and lots of them, are very attractive to search engines.  Please consider creating at least one link on your inn's website to www.Arizona-Bed-Breakfast.com.  AABBI has a professional logo that I am happy to provide you to display proudly on your website.  The logo may be turned into a link or you can simply create a text link to the site. See my example on our inn's home page, www.RoyalElizabeth.com, tucked very discretely in the lower right corner.  It doesn't need to be large to work, it just needs to be there.

5.  If you already have links to AABBI on your inn's website, be sure that they are updated to our new site.  This is particularly important if your link pointed to a "sub page" on our previous site that may no longer exist on our new site.  If you just pointed to AABBI's home page, that address hasn't changed so you should be okay.

The more of these things that each of us does, the more visible our site will become.  New website content takes some time to permeate through the internet Universe so getting great information now is important.

Please give Chuck or me a call if you have questions about any of this.  We'll do our best to help.

Thanks to all of you.  Have a great week!
